Default What size bolts for LCAs & PHB?

Anybody know what size bolts are used for LCAs & PHB? I have to go pick up some grade 8 hardware tommorow and I figured I'd pick up hardware for my LCAs and PHB at the same time. The car is still in storage so I can't crawl under it and see. I thought that they were 7/16" or 1/2" but, I need to know the lengths more than anything.

Thanks,
Andrew

Just reuse the stock bolts. They taper down and you'd have to buy new bolt from the dealer at $3 a piece at wholesale and another $3 for the nuts for this custom size. If you go with a grade 8, you will have to enlarge the wholes on the mounts to fit the straight 3in long, 1/2 in. bolt.

Only the PHB uses tappered bolts right? Does 4" length sound right for the LCA's or is it 4 1/2? I'm not only replacing them for strength but also looks. Rusty hardware drives me nuts (no pun intended), so I figured I would replace it all as I replace suspension parts.

I'm not positive, but I believe all of them taper down. The stockers are just as strong as any other one you'd buy as they are a grade 8.8 metric. Paint them if you want them pretty.

I just checked some sources and these bolts don't look tapered: http://www.lmperformance.com/2875/2.html

So now i am a little confused.

They don't need to be tapered. The stock bolts are metric, and if you buy new metric bolts you DON'T have to enlarge a damn thing. It is, however, hard to find metric bolts with the same skirt as the stick ones. I had to use separate washers.

I replaced mine when I changed them, but don't remember sizes. Just call BMR or Hotchkis or somebody.

I think BadAndy is right for the LCAs, but you definitely would have to go and enlarge the PHB if you want to run a non tapered bolt as the two holes are difference sizes. A correction to my statement above - the stockers are a grade 10.9 metric = grade 8, so nothing to gain by switching.

Wow, thanks for all the info guys. Maybe I'll just invest in an at home plating system. Although, it would be a hell of alot cheaper to run a drill through the mounts. My LCA's and PHB are both double rod ends and 1/2" bolts fit through the sleeves perfect.
