Default 9inch hitting drive shaft tunnel

I'm installing a moser 9inch in My f-body, it appears that the sophn torque arm bracket at the reared housing is going to hit the drive shaft tunnel upon complete compression of the suspension. Any one experience this? The rear is centered under the car.

Maybe it just needs BFH to get clearance??

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks

My guess would be that you have a Moser stamped 9 correct? That is the down fall of the stamped housing as they have to cheat the yoke over one direction and the torque arm over the other direction to get it to fit around the center section. Your only choice is to take a hammer and hit the floor to make room. We like like to tell our Moser customers this before they make this purchase so it isn't a surprise once they get it.

Hope that helps and sorry that is the only help I could give you.

No problem, sorry someone didn't inform you of this before your purchase. Best of luck with your new rear end.

Does your torque arm bracket on the rear end have 2 sets of holes?

Excellent suggestion. Most aftermarket torque arms that feature two sets of mounting holes allow you to use the inner set of holes. This forces the torque arm inward giving you more tunnel area clearance. The 9" allows this move with out cutting the bracket as well.

This fixed the issue on my car, and all the others I have seen with a nine inch and 2 sets of holes, even more so if the car is lowered.
