Putting a 9" in the car and I figure I need to upgrade shocks for better times at the track.
Just looking for something to upgrade the stock rears, nothing crazy. Maybe adjustable.
Part #'s for a 95 Trans am would be great!

Comp engineering 3 ways

 

Same here. only problem is they are longer than stock, so if i put my car on a lift the driveshaft hits the safety loop.

 

I have ce 3 way adj. rears set on 50/50 and there just turrble. Here very soon I plan on upgrading to strange double adjustables.

 

^^how do you liek them comp's overall? i need to start puttin a decent suspension together for my t/a

 

I don't have any before after times yet but I don't like how the ride on the street.

 

I have used the Competition Engineering 3 way adjustable shocks quite a few times on some decently fast cars (high 9's- low 10's) and they seem to work pretty good but none of those guys really drive them on the street.

 

I have comp eng 3 ways on my car.

I drive it everyday.

It is rough, lol.
The first 5 miles I swore I was gonna put the stockers back on, but I've got used to it, I wanted the car to have a drag racing suspension, so thats what I got lol.

 

Comp 3 ways here. I've had the opposite experience you've had with them. I think they ride pretty good on the street. Nice and firm.

Plus they seem to plant the tire pretty well.

 

QA1 TS-704 single adjustables can give you some tuning and still yield a pretty comfortable ride. TD-704's are double adjustable and obviously offer more tuning.

Neither will give a Koni ride quality but will still work well.

The Comp Engineering shocks are a great entry-level item, but the besta bang for the buck in a real shock is the Strange line. Quality is better than the QA1s and performance is up there with the top of the line. And you won't have to worry about them leaking in the first season either.

Just installed them a month ago. Went in well, but the car's in storage so I can't say how they handle.

 

Get a QA1 R single adjustable or a Strange Single adjustable preference to the strange.

I LOVE my double adjustable Afco's but to a novice they could be a bit daunting. 36 different adjustments on each **** isn't for the faint at heart lol!

What about lakewoods 50/50? Anyone run those, i was thinking about getting those

 

I agree 100%. If the budget is there it is hard to beat the single adjustable Strange shock for the money, which I prefer over the QA1.

Afco's are defnitely an awesome shock, just a little pricey for most people and more adjustment then most people want to mess with.

 

i run the comp 3 ways and drive my car atleast a couple times a week and they don't ride bad considering they are set at 70/30, i had them set at 50/50 but the car rode too bad and my times at the track didn't change on that setting anyway

 

For the competition eng. shocks is the right part # c2700 for my 95 Trans am?

 

Well my problem is prolly cause I have lowering springs but I'm putting the stock springs back on.

 

mine is lowered on sportlines and i love the way it rides, stiff but its the way i like it.
