Default Stiff brake pedal, bad braking

So I have had this problem since I got my car, with it going back on the road soon I feel I should address the issue.

The brake pedal is stiff at about 1 inch down, fluid looks clean, replaced the pads and rotors with stoptech brakes and ceramic pads. It seems like slowing down at highway speeds it's just not slowing down like it should and it starts to feel a little crunchy if I start to brake harder, and the abs is off so it's not the pedal pushing back at me. Anyone have any ideas?

A hard brake pedal in my experience usually means the booster is shot.

My issue is like yours but worse. Booster is leaking and its time to change it along with the master cylinder. Safety is very important!

So who makes some good replacement parts? I don't want to just go picking the cheapest brand on rockauto or something. Should I go ahead and change the MC while I'm at it? I don't have any leaks in the system as far as I can tell

I would replace the booster only, with the brand of your choice. I try to get the one with the best warranty as I like to only pay for things once.
