Parking Brake Woes...
Hey everyone,
My parking brake light isn't coming up on my dash anymore - but it still works. As in I turn the key in the on position and all of the dash lights are working correctly. I am guessing that the parking break sensor is bad...does anyone know the GM part number or how to fix this.
Maybe a write up on fixing it?
Thanks,
Josh

There is a switch at the handle under the console - I don't have my manuals here (and it also controls the DRL's, so if they are not working, that's your problem), but it should be easy to look at and test.

Yeah I have searched the net high and low for a picture, or even part number. If anyone could get me that info I would really like to replace it.

I had the same problem and I came early to college and parked in, while killing time, i took the handicapped tag i have in my car and slided it down past the parking brake rubber silt and rubbed foward/backwards it on the copper slot i can see thru the rubber silts and then the parking brake light came back on and it has worked fine ever since. I'm guessing it gets dirty from the dashboard cleaner rubbing off and falling into there.
