Default Safety loop or factory tunnel brace

Is there any benefit to having a safety loop on a car thats mainly a street car. Few track runs here an there. I understand the loop is supposed to keep the driveshaft from hitting the ground but the factory tunnel brace will do the same thing. My car doesnt have neither and im about to purchase a factory brace off ebay but what wondering if theres any benefits to the safety loop first.

I do not know if the factory tunnel brace would be strong enough to contain the drive shaft from hitting the ground or not, BUT I know for sure "factory tunnel brace " an't going to to stop that drive shaft from cutting YOUR feet and/or legs off if the front of the drive shaft gets loose
( which is one of the main reasons for the "safety loop")

if the front u joint fails/drive shaft breaks at the front weld, in which case if the car was moving the rear wheels will contune driveing the drive shaft and it beeing loose on the front end the shaft is going to "whip around " like a loose water hose with pressure on it
ok ?

We definitely recommend getting a safety loop whether the car is on the track or on the street. I have seen more than a few driveshafts get thrown on street driven cars from bad u-joints. It is defeinitely not a bad thing to have a driveshaft safety loop but most people don't realize it before it is too late. Here is a picture of our BMR driveshaft safety loop.
