Default C5 calipers a direct bolt on for f-bodies?

I know you can't use the C5 rotors without using the relocation brackets. However I like the look of the red Z06 Calipers and was told that those would bolt right on and I would be able to use them with my stock f-body rotors. This true?

Yes ... use the guide pin bolts from a C5, though

Direct bolt-on. I'm using the f-body bolts/guide pins. I have a set of C5 pins and bolts, gonna look at the differences.

They are VERY simular to the stock f-body brakes. Little better cast and materials.

The C5 guide pin bolts have a larger head on them.

I'm not saying it won't work. But the C5 bolt heads are larger for a reason ...

Just out of curiousity, if the only reason you waant the C5 calipers is because you "like the look" why don't you save yourself a ton of money and just buy a can of VHT, clearcoat, and a set of caliper stickers from Afterthoughts? If you want increased braking ability than thats another story but I think to fully utilize the calipers, C5 rotors would be needed also.

Here's a pic of my stock rotors I painted: http://home.cogeco.ca/~brettstransam/101-0179_IMG.JPG

Never heard of one breaking. As frugal as GM is, why do you think the bolts are different? The ears on the calipers are different between the F-Body and C5 ...

Yeah, the tabs on the vette calipers are smaller. I think that has more to do with the difference in the size of the rotors and the position of the calipers.

I was thinking more clamping area to counter the thinner ear.
