Default hotchkis or eibach pro kit

I want to drop my car, but not much as I h ave 17x11's w/ 315' on the rear. I am thinking of the Hotchkis springs, but havnt been able to find any experiances with them. Can I get some opinions on the hotchkis 1inch kit and the eibach pro kit.

I think you would be better off with the hotchkis springs, Pro Kits are known to bottom out and sag in the rear, the stance aint all that great rear sittin lower than the front. I can show you a picture of a Camaro with 315 rubber dropped with Hotchkis. Looks pretty good to me.

what about the BMR springs? Thunder Racing has that suspension kit with springs and **** for 349.

Are the BMR springs any good? They lower the same as the Hotchkis, at least thats what they advertise.

Hotchkiss dropped me exactly 1" all around. They are a
relatively high max rate but not too far off stock initial,
so they are a pretty decent compromise of ride comfort
on the level / small bumps but toughen up as you push
them. I found the back a bit low-looking after the install
and the SLP HD/Bilstein rear shocks made it pretty harsh,
I am a lot happier with Gabriel Hi-Jackers out back with
25lb air pressure, got the rake right and a lot more
comfortable.

SLP Eibachs are another possible "compromise" spring
for you, a nominal 3/4" drop, progressive and seem to be
pretty well regarded for the ride/drop/handling tradeoffs.

so your saying that the bilstiens made the ride crappy? Was it just rough overall on all types of surfaces, or did it just make all the bumps and stuff feel like they were larger than they are? I used to have a crx, so I understand the rigid suspension, and it really dosnt bother me. Personally I would prefer my camaro to have a really stiff suspension so I can push her through the twistys faster.

I mean, like 2" pavement-buckle bumps make the
CD player skip and your kidneys bounce. The front
is not anywhere near as bad as the back. I think
the 'vert may be lighter in the back than a sedan
(less glass, plastic trunklid)? Anyway, changing the
rear Bilsteins out for a plain "heavy duty" air shock
made the ride pretty symmetric as far as bump
sensation, hasn't seemed to cost any rebound
damping. It's the high compression damping in the
Bilstein HD/SLP rears I think responsible.

Since the rear shocks are dead easy to reswap,
you can just go for what you think is best and if
you want to try some cheap Monroes or whatever
later on, it's, well, cheap. In LS-1 terms anyway.

either one will look fine. look into dms springs. they look good too, and their price is a little better than either of the others you're looking at. here is a pic of my car with them:

I just replaced my Eibach Sportlines with H&R springs and it rides very compliant now and sticks like glue. At the same time I installed a Suspension Tech 35mm front bar. Very happy with how it drives now. Car still looks low, but it has enough travel to handle bumps, and isn't too harsh even though the spring rates are fairly high. I had it aligned with -1 deg front camber also.

Shocks: Revalved Bilstein HD (bought direct from Bilstein, GM discount)
Springs: H&R $195 (turnermotorsports.com)
Bars: F Susp. Tech 35mm, R Stock
STB: BMR
SFC: Boxed BMR

BTW my Sportlines sagged BAD after only 6 months. If you like low they are the way to go!

I was not very happy with my Eibach pro-kit. The ride has never been that geat (rear end bottoms out a lot), and lately the rear has been sagging. I just put my stock rear springs w/out isolators back in the car. The front will come out when I finally get QA1's.
