Rear or Suspension related problem under load
Hi,
I am not sure if this was a suspension failure, or a rear end failure (Posi).
I was driving home yesterday, ran into a friend and we decided to play a bit. I was power shifting at WOT from second to third and heard a metal on metal (Very Solid) sound from the drivers rear and the car lurched sideways. Not enough to lose control or even break the tires lose, but it definitely went to the left after it happened. I have stock LCA/PHR and Jegster bolt in SFC's and a stock 10 bolt with Motive 4.10's. I checked all of the bolts on that side and I could not budge any of them on either the LCA, PHR or SFC. Nothing appears to be broken on a very uick visual inspection. The car is driving fine, but I did not go WOT after that happened.
So....
Any ideas on what, if anything broke?
Is there anyway to check the posi without opening the rear?
Will going to aftermarket LCA and PHR (Rod ends for both) prevent this in the future if it is suspension related?
If rear related, will going to a T/A type cover and anything else I can upgrade in the 10 bolt help? I can not, in no way, shape or form, afford a 12 bolt at this time.
As always, Thanks!
Fred

Sideways jerk I would have to pin on the Panhard
for letting happen. Seen an ugly busted-mount
pic floating around, from some aftermarket bar.
Also the upper sheet metal body mount looks
kinda dainty. But damage like that should be
visible as the tires becoming unevenly spaced
left-right. LCAs fore/aft. Might try a hip check
on the back end and see if it's loose from either
side, it should be like a rock sitting on short
rubber.

Could something like this be caused by the bushings? I had the car up in the air today and the only thing I can see is possibly worn bushings on the PHR.
Thanks!
Thanks!
