Default Strut tower brace

Will a strut tower brace do anything good for my car? Or is it mainly for looks?

minimal if any handling/stiffness gain, for the price of some it doesn't hurt to try.
I think most people get them for looks (just an educated guess, i'm no analyst)

I wanted one because they look pretty cool, but if I am gonna spend money on it then I hope it actually does a job on the car, like feel better when I drive.

They do absolutely ****. I have one - because I'm short, and it gives me a good place to hang on to when I'm working in the engine bay. Aside from that, it's cosmetic only.

good thing I haven't bought one yet lol I want suspension mods to help with drivability and comfort. I know stock springs are best but they are to high for me. and BMR and Strano springs feel to short. Might just go SLP

I got mine for free so its on my car. Slight stiffer front end feeling but I could have just tricked myself into thinking that.

Why is it people "get it for looks" I don't see anything aesthetically pleasing about them. My old 97 came with one, it's only freakin purpose was something nice to lean on when you were changing spark plugs or something. I later took it off and gave it to a friend for free. I saw no difference after taking it off, but I wasn't autocrossing or anything..

A strut brace makes very VERY little difference in these cars. You'll see the biggest change by using good quality shocks/struts. That being said I have an SLP brace and did notice a slight change in feel during very hard turn in's.

Before I got one years ago, I put my buddies on my car and drive it around. Then took it off and drove it and did that swap on and off again. Each time drove it a week and tested it. I bought one eventually and like it, but had to do the swap a few times to feel any difference.

There are better suspension mods that'll make a bigger difference in the way your car handles, shock/springs/sway bars for example but they are a lot more money. I look at a STB as a fine tuning mod to get that last little tweek and it'll help a vert more than a coupe, imo. An on car adj lower panhard rod would be better money spent for just about the same $.
There are some serious haters and think the STB is a total waste of $ but personally like mine and think it helps but I'm a vert so I run one. In the end it's your car, it's an easy mod to install and a decent way to start your suspension modding.

My Hotchkiss made an immediate difference on my car. Put it on with just over 20 000 miles and like the stiffer feel in the front end. It also changed the way the steering wheel would center itself after a corner.

Each to their own. I wouldn't recommend a STB for a major improvement. As stated, shocks, springs, PH, LCAs, and subframe connectors are much better choices to install before a STB.

They generate revenue for what ever company you buy one from, and are a consistent thread generator for ls1tech. See also "when will my 10 bolt break?".

So much to think about....I want one on my car, I heard one person felt less vibrations in the steering wheel. But I will be doing a new sway bar install soon. I heard it makes your car stiffer and makes it have less body roll

^Right there. Save your money to put towards sway bars.
