Default Different ratio steering??

Just wondering if there may be an option to change racks to a different ratio?

Just curious..

My understanding is that the gearing can be changed in the rack. A place like TurnOne should be able to set you up with whatever you need. If you are serious about it, I'd give them a call.

Hmmm.. Not dead set on it, but my rack has been leaking for a while. May get a reman one and see if they could change the ratio. I could probably do it if I had the parts.

What do you want to change about the ratio? More distance between locks or Quicker response, less response(I.E. having to turn the wheel more or less for the same turning radius). I really like the factory setup but I'm curious as to what you have in mind.

for the F option codes(FE1,FE2,FE4,FE7,F41),the F41 shows 2 different racks. One with a 2 3/4 turns between locks and one with a 2 1/4 turns(quicker ratio) between locks.

The two factory ratios were 6 cylinder vs V8 I would assume. I drove a V6 car once and it was such a completely different car I could hardly belive the difference. I too am curious as to why you would want to change the ratio you already have. The quick steering is one of the things I've always liked. Then again, I wonder if the corvettes had an even quicker steering ratio than our F-bodies.

I would prefer to increase response myself.

Maybe 2 turns l2l. I'd have to feel just how aggressive that is first but I think I would like it.

Yes, I agree. A quicker steering ratio (less turns lock-to-lock) would be sweet.
