Anyone running the BMR Pinto manual rack and pinion?
I was wondering if anyone was running one of these. If so, is there a way to adjust the stiffness or to make it less stiff. Mine is really tight at the moment, even doing around 45 mph it's real stiff. I know manual racks are not like having power steering but from what I have heard it's not supposed to be as tight or stiff like a power steering unit going out. Thanks in advance for the help.

Well, I once had an actual Pinto and the rack was not
heavy, but you're talking half the nose weight and half
the tire patch (if not less). Meaning I'd expect it to be
about 4 times as hard to turn the wheel, all hardware
being equal. And the steering wheel is smaller diameter
too. So, yeah.

Hey there,
Im driving my car with a few weight reduction mods:
Frnt Sway bar, Under hood plastic covers, fender cover wells, powerstering pump & EGR Air pump out ...
17x9.5 with 285/40-17 tires + NO POWER STEERING PUMP = Van Desiel Arms !!
Im interensted to know how different does it feel with a Maunal Rack & 17x4" wheels.
