BMR - Hey I sent you a PM a week ago about a K-Member (Pricing, availability, etc) and got no reply, nothing. Do I have to be blunt, have an attitude, etc and make new thread to get a reply to PMs or something?

Me and a couple of buddies run PA Racing. All fit fine and are some of the lightest and cheapest on the market. We've had zero issues with our weekend driver cars. PA can make it with built in stand so you don't have to purchase mounts separate.

I have a racecraft k-member. Very light, durable, IIRC price was pretty low. You have to buy mounts or run the stock ones with it though.

This seems to be a reoccurring theme throughout the car world.

Question: Is part X durable enough for me to use on the street for normal everyday driving?

Random Person: Since I (one single case) have used it and have never had any problems, then this is proof that using part X for regular daily driving is perfectly safe for all.

To make a real assessment, it makes more sense to look at a bigger sample of cases. Say 3 out of 100 people have the part fail... it's your choice to decide whether or not you want to deal with a part that will fail 3% of the time.

What'd you pay for the PA Racing one then and did it come with engine stands like MWC ? Their site says $419.

I don't want to post it openly... I'll shoot you a PM.

Jason can make them into the K if you request it.. I wasn't planning on going to solids so I didn't, then I decided I wanted to after my K was already here. I endd up having 405$ shipped for my solids and my K member.

Ok so you paid about the same as a MWC k-member with built in stands already. They're both good products but I think I'd still go with MWC based on all the guys with the 7-8 second cars running them without issue.

......I could have had built in stands and came in 100$ cheaper than the MWC.

I think the first thing to do is figure out what you are going to do with the car and how it will be used.

Lightest is not the strongest and strongest won't be the lightest. These super light k-members are made for drag racing, not street driving and not autox. We built ours for street applications and we have a road race version for cars that are actually road racing and autoxing. We have cars running American Iron and CMC on our front end set ups as well as a ton of drag racers... no failures.

Also in the link above that Ramey posted, that customer was sure glad he had our set up, it protected his oil pan and possible saved his car all while not even hurting the k-member.

I think all the other companies make an excellent set up as well, just each company makes them for different purposes. Once you decide how you will be using the car choosing the right k-member and front end will be easier.

I hope that helps,
Ryan
