300 is good street/strip with an emphasis on strip. If you're more street driving, the 350 is a better choice. You won't sacrifice too much 60ft at the strip.

Okay thanks Ramey, the 300 is what I was thinking, my car isn't a daily driver, but good weather street strip car! I'd say these would do good with my comp. engineering 3 ways for a good budget setup, but one of them must be a dud since I just put them on and one is already leaking! That makes me want to go with the Viking front and rear kit!

We've sold hundreds of sets of Vikings across all platforms (F-body rear, A-body GM, G-body GM, Mustang platforms, etc) with no leakers. Their sealing system is quite reliable as we've had zero failures or returns.

We will be doing some competition racing on them in June. We will be sure to report feedback and pictures. We are very confident they are going to perform very well for us.

These look and sound kind of like an alterative to the QA1s from first glance. Aren't QA1 a hydraulic twin tube shock as well?

The damping curve is very similar to QA1's. Attached is the sample dyno sheet from Viking.

Both the Viking and the QA1 are twin tube with a gas bag. This means the piston and oil are in the inner tube and the gas bag takes up space in the outer tube. The gas bag holds pressure on the oil to keep it from foaming.

Monotube shocks have a larger piston since it rides in the bore of the "mono" tube, or just one tube like a big single cylinder. Above the oil is a separator piston and above that is nitrogen. The nitrogen holds down on the separator piston and keeps things from foaming (and that's why the shaft pushes out).

Both styles have their pros and cons. For most of our drag and street customers (big LS power and street/strip), the twin tubes work awesome. With the huge adjustability range we're also having good reports on handling applications. As a matter of fact our house car will be on these this spring at GM Carlisle's ride along.

Awesome, thanks for providing the dyno graph! I wish there was like a link where we could do a side by side by side by side, etc comparison between all of the common shock types out there for us.

QA1 is very similar. I have access to all the different Afco's as well as a few tidbits from Strange and Competition Engineering. Having dyno charts allows me to speak at least semi-intelligently about this stuff.

I haven't been able to dig up the exact Koni graphs yet, although there are some out there for other platforms (some imports, etc).

The Vikings and QA1's have such a broad range we can simulate the general range of most any damper on the market but not necessarily the shape of the curve. Most of us can't feel the difference in slight valving shape changes although there are some who can. The beauty of our sport is there's something for everyone out there...

We finally got a chance to install a set of double adjustable Viking's on our house car... 2000 WS6. This car is being built for handling so we selected the 550lb springs. The install went smooth as expected and we are almost ready to test!

How would these compare to a Koni/stock spring setup? I'm guessing these are geared towards the strip? I'm looking for a street setup in handling and comfort.

I did an autoX, they handled great, put 2000 miles on the car this weekend, flawless and chased down a C5 thru some twist idea, 600rwhp didn't hurt either
Buying a set for a friend overseas.
