Default New Koni Shocks - Is this bushing defective? PIC inside

Hey everyone,
Getting ready to install a set of new koni SA 4th gen rears (1140 sport), but I noticed that one of the rears doesn't appear to have the bushings seated properly. Is this ok, or should these be swapped out? Will this start to squeeze its way out once it's installed and under load? On the other shock, the bushings are fully pressed in and flush.

I wouldn't worry about that very much as long as the bushing feels like it's mounted solid and there aren't any signs of wear.

Well... For the price of koni shocks... I would be pissed! Poor *** quality right there. The shock should perform ok and was surely tested... But that should never pass any internal inspection at the plant.

To me.... I would expect an immediate replacement... But I have a customer service expectation that not many companies believe in anymore.

I'd be saying the same thing but i'd still install and most likely it would be fine for the life of the shock.

If it make you feel better you can install the nut on it and tighten it down a bit with a wrench, then hit the nut as hard as you can a few times with a dead blow hammer an see it that moves anything; but I doubt it. That bolt and particularly the bushing are normally in there really good! I know because I broke one of those mount bolts and removing it wasn't that easy, and the bushing never budged a bit when I removed the bolt , so like I said it's normally in there really good, so I wouldn't worry about it.

I certainly can agree with you guys. But trust me, we've seen much worse from OEM on this bushing. ;-)

They will work legit, you can always get them replaced because they are great shocks and if they came in like that then ill try to get them replaced. Just my opinion since you do pay good amounts for quality Koni shocks.

If it is purely cosmetic I wouldn't worry about it. It isn't a cosmetic component anyway.
