Replace Bilsteins with Konis?
Hi everyone,
Let me first start with some background:
I currently have BMR springs all around, Bilstein shocks in the rear, and Autozone shocks in the front.
The Autozone shocks have to go and I would like to replace them with Konis, but then it comes down to, should I keep the Bilsteins in the rear or swap those to Konis too?
(I literally installed the new Bilsteins 2 weeks ago, so I can easily take em off and sell them on here).

Put the Konis on the front and see how you like the setup. If you feel that the difference in their compression/rebound rates differ too widely, then get Konis for rear. I personally run Koni/Bilstein f/r on my A4 car, and although I can tell that rebound is not as quick in the rear, it works fine for my driving conditions. But I'm on stock springs.

As much as I, too, like to buy "the best", whenever possible, you need to ask yourself how you drive the car. Do you drive it HARD, maybe autocross it, or is it more of a "cruiser" that gets leaned on only once in a while. If you're "on it" all the time, by all means, get 4 Konis. If it's more a cruiser, get Bilsteins for the front, and call it a day.

I do find it to be more of a cruiser... ah decisions decisions... haha.

I then put a set of the SLP re-valved Bilsteins on it, and ran that for about 10 years. It was noticeably better than the first set-up. 3 years ago, I was itching for something to do, and I installed a Strano/Koni set up on it. Much improved, but not "night and day" compared to the previous set up. Therefore, I think you'll be satisfied with just new Bilsteins on the front, especially considering what's there now......
