Default Just rear shocks?

Posted about shocks not long ago with great feedback, thanks! Just got the T/A out from storage, really the only issue is the "waddle" in the corners! So shocks are the first step, I'm on it. I only have 58000 KMs on the vehicle, is it acceptable to just do the rears? This would save me the hassel of taking it to a shop cause you need a spring compressor and an alignment. I only want to tighten up the back end!

I just did my rears only because of the same issue. no waddle but I didnt have quite all the money for four brand new bilstein shocks and I wanted my lowering kit off and my stock springs back lol Its perfectly fine. I clear a lot more stuff and didnt have to roll it on the rack. I have that stuff at my shop when I get the fronts next week

Right on, for me it is a matter of conveinience. I'm putting on a complete Procharger kit this month and would go the extra $500 for the fronts, but its the hassel of getting someone with a compressor and the alignment. I live out of town, so its timing and a hassel. So, with the Bilsteins you found a difference? Seems to be a good choice!

IMO... buy a set of d/a Afco shocks and springs that are very tunable and you won't need a compressor to do the job.

That's fine, but my point is there really is nothing wrong with the fronts, and I would still need an alignment. My question is, can I just do the rears to tighten things up?

Yes you can do just rear shocks, although it will become quite apparent that your stock front shocks are not up to par.
If you want to "tighten things up" drag shocks like AFCO are the last thing you want. Although they are "tunable" for drag racing they are still a non-gas charged drag shock, and will never ride, feel or handle as well as a gas charged sport shock. Just because you can make them "stiff" doesn't mean they are actually working well.

Oh for sure, not drag shocks! I was thinking Bilsteins, not even adjustable. I think that's what they use on the Vetts

Just FYI a simple shock replacement in the front doesn't require an alignment, unless you're also replacing springs and lowering the car. You're right you need to compress the springs but you can rent a compressor at Autozone for free.

I'm back on stock springs with low low mileage decarbons up front and 3rd gen Koni's in the rear (only about $100 each) and it's very acceptable for daily driving. If I had more money I would throw some bilsteins on the front but I don't find that it's bad, the rears really make a huge difference alone.

Sounds to me like you need to go with Koni.... Id suggest a call to Strano and he will get you setup with your specific needs.

You're right, that's what I meant. I should have clarified.

I sent Sam a PM, guess its a busy time. Still working on doing all four corners if I can get my buddy out here with a spring compressor, then its not far to a dealership for an alignment. Plan B would be just rears which I could do myself? I really don't have a problem with the front, just concerned that the car would feel unbalanced with different compression and rebound?
