Default G2 LCA's

Just woundering how loud the poly ends are.. My car is mostly street driven and sees the track a few times a month... I just don't want the added noise... What about the adjustable lca's....Thanks

Anytime you reduce the isolation properties of a suspension link you open yourself up for more noise to get into the cabin. That's one of the reasons that the factory uses a good deal of isolators and insulators. So, poly will tend to transmit more noise than rubber and solid links will tend to transmit more noise than poly. High quality solids links (heim joints) will go a long way to reducing the noise, but its not unavoidable.

So, IMO if you want to be guaranteed factory type noise levels then stick with something like the 1LE LCA's or the stockers. If you're willing to take a little risk then the G2 poly/rod LCA's will make you happy and will likely not increase your noise levels much. In my case they're dead quiet, but your experience may vary.

I'm also assuming that you're talking about the poly/rod LCA's - I would not recommend a poly/poly LCA for street use.

I thought the rod end would make more noise... They sell the lca's which are both poly ends and a adjustable race lca which has one rod end....

Supposedly the G2 LCAs are the most quiet of the aftermarket LCAs. I wouldn't hesitate to buy them, as I'm not. I would agree with the above though. The poly/poly LCA wouldn't be a great choice on the street.

You don't need all that adjustability IMO. The more adjustments you have, the harder it is going to be to get your suspension dialed in. It's jsut not necessary for a street driven car.

Mine were completely silent the first year. Now they are completely rusted and make some noise going over bumps. I'll need to buy new rods soon. I wish they made them out of stainless steel.

Nice to hear that!

I have a quick Q...when I grease the poly end, how much grease should I pump in there? Should I begin to see it coming out or have I gone too far by then?

I just put some grease on the ends. Never pumped it in there. It's been 2 years and no squeeks.

With the poly ends I usually just pump until you can feel some "resistance". It may start to come out the sides, but in my experience it just gets difficult to pump at some point (usually ~2-3 pumps on my hand-operated NAPA lube gun).

Yes, as a rule of thumb, polyurethane bushings will be quieter than solid rod ends, where in fact there is no bushing between the suspension piece and the frame of the car.

Poly/Poly is street friendly...rod ends are more for race applications, but can be used on the street with no problem, as long as you don't mind any added noise.
