The HPS should be a lot better than stock just make sure you bed them. I run HPS or HP+ in the front for racing and autozone 22 dollar pads in the rear. My car gets axle hop under hard braking because the factory GM brake proportioning is like 50/50 which is terrible.

"Bedding Brakes"

5 moderate to aggressive stops at 40mph to 5mph w/o letting the brakes cool or w/o a complete stop. Then do 5 moderate stops at 25mph down to 5mph and let the rotors cool after each time.

Correct

Here are the instructions off hawks site:

Bed-In Instructions

1.After installing new brake pads, make 6 to 10 stops from approximately 30-35 mph applying moderate pressure.
2.Make an additional 2 to 3 hard stops from approximately 40 to 45 mph.
3.DO NOT DRAG BRAKES!
4.Allow 15 minutes for brake system to cool down.
5.After step 4 your new pads are ready for use.

thanks first thing i did was throw the instructions out. i know the rotors also have some type of coating on them that wears off and the rest of the rotor wont rust. maybe ill call strano and ask about how to break them in. or if i have to ill read the instructions. thanks

No reason really to call and bother Sam. Two instructions have already been posted, both almost the same. That's simply how you do it.

i was more wondering if the rotors require something different since they have a coating that has to burn off. went to the hawk website and couldnt find any special instructions. dont want to bother anyone just trying to do it right the first time.
