Default Stuck rotor

Trying to change the pads and rotors on my '99 and I can't get my left rear rotor off. It doesn't seem like it is stuck on the studs, but I cannot see all the way inside to check. I have tried beating the hell out of it with a rubber mallet and that hasn't worked yet either. Thoughts?

Maybe something wrong with the Parking Brake? It could be holding it on the axle.

Yeah there was an issue with the parking brake..............I never disengaged it. Now to figure out how to get the caliper back on the rotor. I am having a hell of a time getting the piston compressed on this one.

Use a large C-clamp and one of the old brake pads to compress the piston.

And crack open the bleeder to relieve the pressure. Makes it a LOT easier. I can usually press the pistons back in with my thumbs when I've cracked the bleeder open.

Ah! Maybe that was the problem. The front was fine but the rear has been a bitch to get done. Where is the bleeder on these things? Haven't changed brakes in years, and never on an F-body.

Got the C-clamp and I was still having a hard time with the rears. Now just need to find the bleeder and go from there.

Just remember that if you do loosen the bleeder, you will have to bleed the brakes.

Its the small bolt with a nipple/hole on it at the top edge of the caliper.

Also, brake fluid is corrosive so don't let any touch paint.
