Rear shock lower nuts now $17+!?!?
Got off the phone with dealership, salesman says GM discontinued this nut, the rights to this part were sold off to another company and now they are $17+ for one nut. This is outrageous that companies are doing this and it seems like a direct attack on us as car owners. They basically have a monopoly now on replacement parts for our cars. I of course refused to buy it but now I'm screwed until I find a replacement. Koni didn't include any with my shocks and I can't find a source for a replacement anywhere.

I've tried every local bolt store and nobody has one that size or even similiar. Grainger was close but was only a 7mm tall jam nut. Finding metric is the problem they are not common. Is there an equivalent SAE size or a better source for metrics somewhere??
I am using koni sa sport rears which had no included nut.

Try this.....

They do not carry a comparable flanged hex nut, but you could easily use one of these with a correct sized thick washer.

Why not replace the bolt and nut together with a combo that works instead of finding a nut that works with the OEM bolt???
All you care about is that it is long enough and the shaft of the bolt is the correct OD to not have excessive slope with the ID of the shock bushing sleeve.
