Powder coated caliper issue
I had a local shop powder coat my brake calipers. I was assured that they had done this many times before and they are a big operation doing lots of work. I am concerned though the way they filled in the groove where the banjo bolt and brake line connect to the caliper. Will the crush washer seat properly with the groove filled in this way or should I chip some of the paint away?
Thanks!

Isn't that caliper aluminum? I wouldn't take a grinder to it. Hold the washer over top of the hole and use a Sharpie marker to draw around it. Grab a razor blade and actually cut through the powder coat. Use the razor to peel up the coating inside the cut mark and grab some 80 grit sandpaper and sand in a circle. Good to go.

Yup... that needs to be removed.
NOTE - I just had a bunch of engine parts coated here locally... fu9king crap quality on anything that required even a little masking. Amazing how shoddy work goes for "acceptable" these days.

my friend owns a powder coating shop, they tape off the sealing surface. What you need to do it take a razor blade or xacto knife and score the area outlining where the seal needs to go, then scrape the stuff off. It should flake off.
Or take a a flat piece of metal and some sand paper and sand it until its bare metal again.
