Default Drag racing suspension

I just bought a 99 ss camaro for 3000.it has long tube headers mass air flow sensor 373 gears auto tran ran 12.80s with a smoking motor.anyway my question what suspenion upgrades can I make to the car.next yr I will be shooting for the 11s range.

Since you're an auto you're going to need a stall, and a stall means you should get a trans cooler to regulate your transmission temps. As far as suspension people have gone 11s with factory suspension.

If you're lowered I'd get lower control arms with relocation brackets.

I'd also figure out why my motor was smoking

The motor is now a ls2 I think some stuff like.i still have the ls1 motor in the shed

Don't need much suspension till you get deep in the 11s. Converter and tires will do wonders at the strip. The easiest suspension items I would choose would be LCA relos and then a torque arm with relo bracket to get it off the tail of the trans.
