Default poor handling at speed

Long time listener, first time caller...
I was wondering if anyone else has a problem with high speed (>125) stability? Car seems to bounce back and forth violently. Also it does not "squat" at speed like other high performance cars I've had in the past. The only suspension mods the car currently has are homemade SFCs and strut tower brace (the problem existed before their fabrication). Also, the factory panhard bar seems to have an unnatural bend downward at the upper connection. Is it supposed to be straight?
Thanks in advance,
Todd

Welcome ...

The PHB is uspposed to be straight, yes. Check tire tracking to make sure you aren't "crabbing" the car while it's traveling in a straight line.

Your username implies you have an '87 year model car. Is that the case or is it a 4th gen?

Thanks for the quick reply, I'll check the track. The sig is an old holdover from a Monte Carlo SS I recently parted with. Old habits...
My current ride is an 01 Z28 M6.

I don't have sigs turned on. Some folks go a little overboard on "look at me" stuff and just clutters things up.

Have you had the car aligned? To stock or the recommended custom settings of -1.0* camber, +4.5* caster and zero toe?

The stock suspension is pretty high and there's not
much "ground effect" going on - possibly its negative.
Lowering might improve things somewhat. Of course
there are other "ground effects" like speedbumps
and armadillos....

I have had no such alignment, but have had good wear on tires. I'll have to look for a good alignment shop...I've had no luck finding one locally.
Thanks again,
Todd

You said upper attachment point on the PHB. Are you looking at the upper PHB brace or the actual PHB (the lower is straight and runs from the frame to the axle, the upper is between the frame and the frame and has a kink to clear the exhaust).

Yes, the upper mount to the PHB. So the kink is supposed to be there...Thanks for the info

Yup the kink belongs in the top bar, the bottom one should be straight.

I'm going to have to send Mitch back to school again......I think that's 2 mistakes in a week

Mitch, is hell month finally over?

Trackbird, you are a wise sage among F-body owners. Your posts are both true and noble, and you saved me from buying cross-drilled rotors.

Default finally fixed

Well, it's finally fixed. I lowered the car (cut the coils) 1 coil in the back and 1 1/4 coil in the front. Not a dramatic change, but enough to drop the front lower than the back. I also boxed the rear LCAs and the factory panhard bar. Thanks for all the help.
