Default Steering shudder help

So I had installed a bmr k, Lca's, umi uca's, replaced the steering rack with a reman unit. After this was dome I noticed when I turn the wheel at idle the front wheels shudder really bad. I called the company that sold me the rack and they said the ps pump, and high pressure line should have been changed also. So I changed them out, bled the system and the problem is still there. Steers fine with no load, or while moving it's mainly just sitting still at idle, or slow parking lot manuevers. Any one else experienced this? I'm thinking the rack is defective.

What brand of pump and lines did you replace the stock pieces with? I have heard some aftermarket high pressure lines are not as strong as the factory parts, and can cause shudder. However, it sounds like the issue is rack related. Keep bleeding the system of air. If there is one thing I've learned, it's bleed till you think it's ready, then bleed some more. It takes a while to get the air out of a rack that's been run dry.

I used a oreilly cardone pump, and whatever brand the hose they sell is. The issue was not present before I changed the rack.

Hope the new rack does it. Got mine from napa and had no issues after I figured this out: I did not tighten the bolt used to attach the column to the rack, because I was in a hurry. Went back in and tightened that bolt up. Problem solved.

That's interesting, I'm gonna double check that also.

My OE rack, with 78,000 miles on it, "shudders" a little bit, when I'm maneuvering the car around in tight quarters in the garage, with the engine basically at an idle. But once I bring up the engine speed , it's OK.....

So I installed another reman rack. Bled it with the tires in the air and engine off. Did the exact same thing as the previous rack, even worse. So I decided to drive it a bit. After several tight turns, holding it on the steering stops, it seems to have fixed itself.

Are the racks tested on a Dyno after they are rebuilt?

What fluid is in the system? If you put any kind of transmission based fluid in it will do this.
