Default Need help identifying a part

Hello everyone! I recently bought my first Z28, and it came with a popping noise in the rear. I went to investigate tonight and found that this is cracked on both sides:

It's the place where the shock attaches to the trailing arm. I'm hoping someone can help me find what it's called so I can replace it. Thanks!

Thats a control arm relocation bracket. Mine broke in the same spot after a few years. Just buy a new set or run it without the brackets. Personally I would order a new set their not that expensive and take these ones out until you get the new ones. These ones look like the bolt in ones. Hope this helps although I may be crazy but that also kinda looks like the founders load adjustable control arms looking at it closely again. If so just take the bracket off and pull the preload bar off the control arm if its that type of arm. I gotta stop being up so late on this site lol :p

That is an interesting configuration. I see a control arm in the standard location, plus that bar in the relocation bracket. I am curious to see how the front is connected. The part that is broken is indeed a relocation bracket. We offer them pretty reasonably priced.

2 lower control arms??

My concern is the sort of shiny black thing that looks like it's bolted to the left side of the relocation bracket (2nd picture.) It covers part of the tire sidewall, wondering what in the world is that?

Hello there, That looks like a after market ( Traction Bar Kit ) Maybe made by "Lakewood"... they are about $475 for the Pair, You could have a Shop Weld that bracket were it's cracked and should Cure the Problem. Those Traction Bars have Replaced the Factory Lower Control arms.

1 -LakeWood Traction Bar Kit
$475. JEGS

2 -Lakewood 21700 Traction Action; Traction Lift Bar 82-02 Camaro Firebird
$351.44 on EBAY

3 -Shop can weld that bracket solid again for not much

Hope this Helps a little !

I will defiantly replace those as well! I ordered new brackets, and I'm going to weld the old ones for a back up... just in case
