Default Koni str.t possible issue?

Got a full set of koni str.t's and was inspecting each out of the box and had one of the rears come fully compressed and wouldn't extend by itself like the other 3 did out of the box. It feels like it has similar resistance when you pull it out and push it back in so that's good but I am concerned about why isn't it the same as the other 3? Inconsistencies don't give me a lot of confidence in it.

Anyone else see this?

I left a message with koni so I'll post what they say about it.

New Koni shock possibly bad?

^ Read the first and second post. I never ran the shocks, I sold them before I put them on unfortunately, but they should be fine to run

I read your thread before sucks you never got to try them. I am hoping others can chime in as well I really don't want to try and go through the time and money sending them back if they are ok.

I still have my Koni STR.Ts in the box but I think mine have the same issue. So in the end, it was nothing to be concerned about?

They are very low pressure gas shocks, and when new the seals are tight and the oil is thick (more so when cold). So sometimes the shock won't self extend when new.

My new Koni's did that too. They extend about 3/4 of the way and stopped, I put them in and they seem to ride fine. A little stiffer then my worn de carbon shocks. They pass the "bounce" test good.

I literally just finished the install on mine yesterday....and mine did the same thing...car rides much better than the 16 year old shocks I removed them for....
