I STILL wish that someone would rebuild them with a quicker ratio, or offer a whole new 'race' rack with quicker ratios (but so few road race these cars that is NEVER likely to happen ).

I see Turn One charges $225.00 + shipping.

I'm thinking just buy a ramanned AC Delco from Rockauto.com for $126.00 ((after core is returned) with only shipping charges to get the part to me....and no down time.

Got mine from Napa. No problems so far after 2,000 miles. I heard rack doctor doesn't even re finish the outside or clean it. It comes however it comes from the previous owner. Just an fyi

Did you get a lifetime warranty from NAPA...?

PepBoys and Advance Auto usually offer Lifetime warranties on things like that. I'll have to check. Its a bitch to replace, but at least it'll be free replacements for life.

I was looking at some on ebay when I thought I needed to replace mine. Different companies and prices. They had limited time warranties from what I remember as well.

Huh, I thought people dredded having to swap them out. Isn't this the part that has the two bolts that need to be sawzall'ed off, then you put the bolts back in upside down....?

Anyway....I'm putting a BMR turbo kmember in and I have to drop my oil pan to tap it for oil feed lines, so we figured I should put a new rack/pinion unit in while we have it all apart. Mine unit is original from 1998......

Those online coupon codes are great. I used one once for 4 new brake calipers and brackets. The manager of the store where I went to pick them up literally thought I was pulling some kind of computer hack to get the amazing discount one of those codes gave me. He called the headquarters to find out it was a legit coupon code. He was like....no way there's any profit built in to this sale.....lol

Lt1 is a easy swap. LS1 guys have the issue with the bolt interfering with the oil pan. I Should have been more specific when I said it was easy. Haha

You were correct that it is easy (if you've already swapped it out once and the L mounting bolt was installed upside down.)
