Second time's a charm in this case. Got the new NEW sensor in and ABS is light is no more. This sensor really is picky. The last sensor that hit the reluctor gear had 6 threads visible. This time I started at 9 threads and had to drive around the block and back it up onto my ramps 3 times because the light didn't go off until the 7th thread was just out of view. It had me sweating that's for sure since again, only 6 threads are visible!

Gonna update this thread because my sensor failed again in the same way. This time I contacted Strange to ask if they could advise on a fix. This is my 4th sensor at $100 and I'm tired of replacing them every 2 years. They didn't have anything right away but said their engineers would work on something. To my amazement they came through! Strange sent a new sensor with a "stress relief" and some shrink tubing. I'm real excited about this stress relief, I think it will be just what I need. They also put a loop in the wires as another sort of stress relief I'm guessing.

I installed the sensor into the rear, put a glob of gear oil RTV on the top of the sensor, screwed the stress relief on hand tight, soldered the wires together, heated the shrink tubing, and put the wire loom back on. ABS light is gone again for now.
