Welcome back to the 4th Gen f-body platform. The fact that you're driving around a 4th Gen now with the idea of product development and testing is a big win for all of us in this section.

Installing http://www.stranoparts.com/partdetai...=269&ModelID=7

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Working on the first of the newest parts from Strano Performance Parts. Sorry, not ready to give details yet. BUT when I am it's something that I will recommend to everyone and it won't be a whole lot of money, and very easy to install.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Not wasting time, already on the lift.

Car is very nice. I've known it and the first owner a long time. It is clean and has a lot of good stuff with it. Some will be sold of as I have other parts I prefer to run.

Nahh man. STB for sure, it's even painted black like his sway bars. Something has to disperse the load from the shock towers from aggressive driving like it's about to be put through

Just joking, I have no idea what you've got cooked up, but whatever it is, it can only be good stuff.

Question though. I thought you had your mind set on a Pontiac this time around. What's with the SS sitting there.

It was too good a deal to pass up. And well, as much as black is a pain in the *** to keep clean, when it's clean it looks killer.

As much as I prefer the Firebird and how I had my heart set on one I'd have bought a hardtop Camaro over a T-top Firebird, plus with getting a good deal and knowing the owner I'd have done the exact same thing.

You need to buy a Trans Am too! You said you were looking that way, come on show some love man
Actually this is cool you got an SS, as Ive read/heard the SS is "heavier" than the Z28, I assume you have scales and have weighed your Z28 before, can you verify if the SS is heavier?

I'm officially out of freaking room. So, the TA is out. I see zero way the SS is heavier than the Z28. There is really nothing different at all. The hood and the little kick up in the rear spoiler. The hood is lighter, and that probably covers the little bigger 17x9's vs. the Z28's 16x8's.

Lots of claims of this and that. Hell I weighed my 2001 Z28 vs. a 1995 Z28. Full tanks, same wheels and tires, same (at the time) solid front bar. Power seats in both. the '95 was a T-top vs. my hardtop. LT1 vs. LS1, both 6 speeds. Both on Koni's. The result? A *MASSIVE* 6 pounds different. And my car was heavier.

Ha ha! Back in 2011 a friend of mine bought a Grand Sport for autocross, to run in what was then called Super Stock. I was to co-drive with him (and I did).

He got a personalized tag for it and was so proud to show me. It said GS4SS. I looked at it, at him and said "that's so nice, a GS for Sam Strano". The look on his face was priceless.

No, this was just a good deal. In fact looking at NASA Time Trial rules it's a hurt as the cars start with a base class and you add points for mods. An SS starts 7 points higher than a Z28. And we all know that they aren't really hardly any different.

Do you want to buy them? They are coming off pretty soon.

What do you mean, what's the deal? What do you want to know?

Little update. Put on http://www.stranoparts.com/partdetai...=269&ModelID=7. Checked with various wheels including the stock 5 spoke '98 SS wheels to see what needs spacers and what doesn't, and how much.

Brakes are already a hundred times better than the Corvette calipers that were on there before. And there is more to come.

Aligned it with my newly calibrated Hunter machine. Hoping to take it to a work meeting on Wednesday.

More details and some pictures shortly.
