Default Oops, I did it again. I have an f-body again

1998 SS Hardtop. Bought as I need to develop some parts and it was impossible with out a car. Also it was a great deal.

Also with the fact that more and more muscle car events are happening and the majority of the work I do is still with these cars, I thought it was time again to have my own.

No pics right now. It's a dirty mess and on puny wheels. And my focus is on getting it ready to run a NASA PDX in November @ Summit Point. so I'm working on getting a race seat in, and brakes (will be using the kit I put together with Wilwood calipers).

And I already ordered my Forgestars for it today. Has really nice 17x11 Bogarts which weigh NOTHING already but sadly the fastest "200treadwear" street tires are 18". There are some parts that will be coming up for sale sometime off the car including the torque arm, maybe those wheels, some Corvette calipers, and possible some Penske shocks after I'm done comparing them to what I've done with UMI.

I have a list of things I need to work on beyond that. It was time, and I kind of missed my 2001.

Big mistake getting rid of that torque arm, unless you are designing a similar piece along with UMI. I know you didn't like the one you drove, but the owner of the car admitted at the time it was not set up properly. I have one on my car and there is no doubt it outperforms the typical tubular full length arm + relocation.

Awaiting future pics and developments!

Now what I think what would really be cool, is to see how fast these cars can go in stock class, and then to see how much improvement there is to be made moving up to the prepared class and maxing out the mods in that class. Not going to happen, but would be awesome to see + it would give a cool comparison as to how much your own valved shocks and other parts can make an F-Body be transformed with a set of decent mods that have your name into the development of those parts

Don't play with our hearts!

Seriously though congrats and it's nice to see the guy that proved F-bodies are more than straight liners in one again, also did I hear new parts? I already have enough stuff I need to buy from you, great.

I'll try and get some pics soon, but you know how it is... work gets in the way.

As for the torque arm. Well, everyone has their opinion. I've run them before, and more than one brand, and I wasn't so blown away. And because this is a shop car and one that is used to show what we do, and having a hell of a good track record with a full length arm, I'm sticking with it for this car unless something in the earth's axis has caused a huge difference from the last time I tried, which I doubt.

The Bogarts being 17's might be up for sale sometime, but not until the A6's on them are smoked.

Sam, any chance you'll be running some UMI on this car?

The fact that a guy like you would come back to these cars is a sign that they are getting some of the respect they deserve - in spite of all the ridicule and abuse heaped upon them.

Add to that the fact that most of the work you're doing is still with these cars is testimony to the long-term viability of the 4th gen platform. Not that they're perfect or haven't been eclipsed by other platforms long ago - but they're something the average guy can have a hell of a time playing with in the effort to make them go faster.
