I got a 99 SS with the SLP sport lsuspension level 2 (Bilstein) with progressive rate springs the car sits pretty low and lately when I hit a bump in the road the car seems to "bump" instead of a smooth motion . My question is do you think it's time to replace the suspension? The car is 18 yrs old just wanted some opinions the shocks are not leaking and the car still handles phenomenally

My opinion the springs front or rear can lose strength, If u search on my posts in suspension section few years ago I replaced my rear slp springs because the rear sat too low because those springs defintely sagged. I have a 2002 ss with level 1 bilstein pkg.
I also had my right front Bilstein shock bleed out at 10k miles around 2004, was interesting because by hand u could bounce that corner of car by hand and bottom it out against bump stop. But it rode acceptable except for the noise and clunking at the right front wheel, didn't really have bouncing happening I suspect because of big front sway bar.
Only way I think you can diagnose your springs is measure them with a tester/press and force gauge to find if each inch of compression corresponds with their advertised rating.
