No ASR dash light cannot turn ASR off

No ASR dash light cannot turn ASR off 2001 Camaro SS
No asr light when key goes on, switch on dash does not turn off asr. I took it to a garage and asked them to check codes. They said it was showing a bad electronic brake control module and that was the reason I can not disable asr, However I get no abs lights or any indication of abs not working but I do have a check engine light showing a misfire across all cylinders but car runs strong and idles smooth. The only thing I have not tried is to lock up the brakes to check the ABS
Can I have a bad ebcm without any warning lights?
