I’m running a stock 96 with 16” rims. It was suggested to me that I could improve performance without breaking the bank by changing knuckles, rather than wheels. Does this make any sense, or should I just focus on larger wheels? Would be for improving overall performance in various road situations. Not drag, not autocross, but definitely more of an autocross type of driving.

What rotors were used with the caddy ats brembo's?
what are the 12.6in from?
what are the 13.5in rotors from?
I got caddys from a 2016 ct6. Which may or my not be same as the ct6 which I'm told from purchasing are j56 option. Not j55. But rock auto has this 2016 ct6 same part#as 2013 ats. Both matching ACDelco part#. Lefts end in 9034 and Rights 9035.
I got c6 z06 drilled & slotted for cheap. But those monster 14in rotors will not fit in these ct6 brembo's. I have c7 wheels. 18/19 staggered. 1in spacer in front. So I'm not worried about any clearances but to make brembo's fit on my car with biggest rotor. Which seems a 13.5 or 13.6in diameter is what I can fit.
i already jumped the gun and ordered j55 brembo's. Have had parts and took 3 weeks to have time. Now I'm done waiting.
Thanks in advance.

@alexahdl What's your goal? Because brake upgrades on the rear wheel don't *greatly* affect braking power (on many cars, and for sure a 4th gen) so unless you're actively road racing it or serious AX, it's only a cosmetic upgrade (mostly). Better rear braking might be helped by slightly better rear pads. Talk to Strano.

Looks like I'm finally making my way to the brakes again lol
found a set of ATS J55 brakes calipers complete for $130 a piece, so $280 for both complete calipers. Not a bad score I guess. Has pads, pins, retainers, bolts, and even the hoses attached. They are in good shape as well. Too bad I gotta paint them or it would be a quick bolt in.
what brand of pads are you all running in these? I'm looking around, and there are TONS of options. I'm usually partial to Hawks ceramic pads on my current brakes, but curious what to run now.
I referenced the video to get the parts for the calipers, and other than some C7 rotors, and opening up the mounting holes, the only thing i had to buy separate was these banjo bolts that was referenced in the video we all have been watching now lol

Alll i know is it is a racket changing setups../. i wanna do a spindle mounting style wheel and TBM brakes but i cant stomach the cost.. not to mention that once i do, I have top buy new wheels on top of it all>
I have (iirc) c5 or c6 brakes up front. It looks straight forward to put them on.

The Z51 c7 vette upgrade is pretty easy. I have 18" wheels so it's even easier. Other than the banjo bolts ad drilling out the ears slightly, it was really straight forward.
Just make sure you know which calipers you have. The ATS/Stingray calipers shown on the right are smaller that fit the 17" wheels better and use the 12.5" rotors. The Z51/CT6 J55 calipers use the bigger 4 pistons calipers with 13.5" rotors, pictures on the left.
Mounted only took a few minutes to drill put with the 1/2" and then the 9/16" drill bits.
Painting these are so much much easier than the regular brakes, even on the car.
Fit nicely behind 18" wheels.

My z51 rotors finally came in. So much better fitment lol this was one of my favorite appearance and functional upgrades I've done in a long time.
The top rotor is the the Z51 13.5" rotor. Definitely has a larger surface area, not to mention diameter lol anyone need some C7 standard front rotors, hit me up.
New rotor in place, fresh paint, waiting on some pontiac decals for the calipers.
Decided to try these Brembo ceramic Pads. Nice box, and the red shims are a nicw touch lol
And loosly boltwd in place, not a bad compromise between the 6 piston vette calipers and the Z51 4 piston calipers. Id have to give my vote for the 2019 Z51/CT6 calipers and 13.5" C7 Z51 Rotors. The pricing wise, $300 for both complete calipers (bolts, pins, harware, old pads), $16 for new banjo bolts, $160 for rotors, and $80 for new pads. Had to buy new wheelhub bolts $20 for my build since i had C5 brackets with longer bolts on mine, So roughly $500 total for a large brake up grade.
