Default What is this rear caliper hardware for?

I found this when cleaning my garage and recall that it came with my reman 2001 Camaro rear calipers. I can't find any indication of what they are though! Anyone know about these?

Yeah I couldn't find any info on them online either, but their packaging has the part number of the calipers on it with "hardware for:"... So idk, I have driven a bit on the brakes with no ill effects but this is just driving me crazy :o

Don't recognize it as a caliper part BUT could be brake hose retainer clip to replace a broken OEM one. Holds the flex hose to the bracket on the axle.

That piece comes in the hardware kit for new brakes but it isn't used on our car.

These are actually reman brakes though. They are def. not brake line clips since they are very thin, thinner than a credit card.

Out of curiosity, where *are* they used in other cars?

Your first issue is that you are working on a 4th Gen car and the brakes you have purchased are for a 3rd Gen.

If you had a 3rd Gen car and could actually use those calipers, that silencing spring fits in the top of the caliper. Part #17 in the diagram below:

Nice, thanks! I'm using these on a totally different project and for some reason I thought I pulled the cores off a 2001 camaro... that's what I get for letting parts sit around for 2 years before I get to them

So, are you just going to tease us with "the project", or will we get to get in the know about what you are doing?
