Default Does the Willwood Kit for 17” wheels fit the stock Camaro SS wheels?

Anyone have this kit first hand and can confirm it fits or not? I have the 10 spoke stock GM SS wheels. A picture would be great also! I first called Willwood, and the tech was about as helpful as **** on a bull. I explained there are 2 kits a 4 piston and a 6 piston. He was you need to measure the wheel. lolol

You actually do need to measure the wheel to make 100% sure, but the Superlite 6 caliper is pretty low profile and clears most things. Trouble is the 10 spoke wheel's spokes angle in on the backside, taking up room that a wheel of the same specs does not, like an SS/ZR1 5 spoke type. There is a handy little template to make sure, all you need to do is pull the wheel and use the template. I don't know as i never had 10 spoke wheels.

Thank you Sam. Customer service told me nothing of a template. I will go look for it. I will be contacting you also about some shocks when I do the brakes.

If you haven't ordered yet Sam got me a great deal on that brake kit and his customer service is second to none, just a thought.

I am a Wilwood dealer and I can get you a template if you haven't already found it.

Sam, still not sure how to use this. It looks very small. What am I missing? And of course I’ll order these through you.

There's a couple different options on that kit, the one I chose worked fine with my factory WS6 wheels, Call Sam and he can get you the right stuff.

The numbers not in parenthesis are in inches. The diagram is of the brakes when viewed from front or rear. All the rest of the stuff is pretty clearly marked. Lay a ruler of something on your wheel mount surface and measure down to the spokes to make sure the caliper will clear. You need .75" of a inch of room where the spokes are relative to the wheel/rotor mounting face. But remember spokes curve, the tightest will be at the innermost part of the caliper, closest to the hub centerline. In this case that corner of the caliper is 4.45" out from the center of the hub, so measure 4.45" or so out from the center of your wheel, and see if the spokes give you the .75" of clearance you need there.

Thank you Sam. I’ll try to figure it out over the weekend. For a couple of grand you would think they would provide a template like other companies do. It’s not clear to me yet but I’ll try.

I tried the measurements and obviously I am doing something wrong. Unfortunately I am a visual person. Show me something once and i will retain it forever usually but write it down and it becomes hard to follow. I can easily change brakes, rotors, lines and calipers. The issue is I have no idea still if this kit fits. I have called Wilwood and there absolutely useless customer service. I truly appreciate Sam Strano trying to help me out by explaining there diagram. I would have been able to use a 1:1 template easily providing Wilwood had one like other brake manufacturers. So in conclusion Wilwood lost a $2000 sale. I will figure out another brake solution possibly with the GM Cadillac calipers and the 17" Corvette rotors, but not sure as this will need more research. I was trying to just buy a kit and bolt it on without jumping through hoops or standing on my head. **** needs not be this difficult.
