Default Inner tie rod

Hi All I got the tool to take of my inner tie rod but there is no hex head for me to put the removal tool. Am I missing a step to connect the tool or what?

Any suggestions or ideas?

Look closer, on the outside of the 'ball and socket' end there are two flat spots that oppose each other (one of them is at 1 o'clock in your picture)! I have a big Cresent wrench I use for these, if all else fails, since you're replacing it anyway, you can use a medium to large pipe-wrench to break it loose! Give whatever tool you use some quick jabs with your palm or 2lb hammer, it'll pop loose! Good luck👍
edit: break loose the jam nut on the outer tie-rod end first if you're reusing it before breaking loose the inner-tie-rod!

Do as MMBM wrote above, but knock back those white plastic covers to expose the flats.
