Default Best panhard rod.

Who makes the best adjustable panhard rod for the money. My car is a daily driver and has never seen the race track so I don't need a hard core race part. I was looking at either a Hotchkis or BMR. I personally like the BMR because you can adjust it on the car. So what are your opinions on these or are there better ones out there.

Thanks

Well, best for the money is subjective. A high quality PHR is worth the extra money spent, so I'm going to recommend that you at least consider the LG PHR with rod ends. I know that you're not looking for "hardcore" parts, but these are very high quality ends and as such they are reasonable for street use.

If it were me I would avoid the center-adjustable PHR. Not a good idea.

I'm sure you'll get a million opinions, though. This just happens to be mine

You can assemble your own adjustable rod-end panhard bar from the parts for under $100 that is better than anything you can buy. This would also be a light-weight aluminum unit.

So it is okay for me to use the rod ends on the street instead of the ends with bushings. Most of the place's I looked they said the rod ends were for race use only.

All rod ends are not created equally. If you stick with the high quality units (such as those used on the LG hardware) then I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. Also, those setups that use dust shields are good since they will help protect the rod ends from premature wear.

I have over 20K miles on my LG rod ends, plus a LOT of autox and open track time, and they are still quiet.

I picked up "Bad Z components" pan hard------------------------------------------->
The quality is really nice. And adjustable on both ends.

UMI makes an adjustable panhard with the QA1 rod ends. I think they are probably the cheapest. Sponser on the right---->

Mine adjustable PHR with rod ends makes way too much noise. Its banging noise, not tire like noise. It sounds like the rear end is about to fall out. I plan on getting one from BMR with poly/poly ends to replace it.

Instead of downgrading to that BMR/poly junk, why don't you just replace your bad rod ends with some good QA1 rod ends. They have several models, but their top of the line rod ends are second to none and make no noise at all. Now if I could just remember that part number . . .

Oh here it is: XMR-12 and XML-12 for the 3/4 inch right and left hand threads. They are the "Endura 2000 series."

The rod ends are QA1, and they have less than 100 miles on them....

Yup and the cheap ones are still cheap ones. The XMR series are excellent.

However, most use 3/4" heim joints but some use a 5/8ths heim (Bad Z's and possibly others). So, make sure which ones you have before you order the wrong size.
