Default Single best suspension piece?

Im looking to add just one piece, i was wondering what would help out the most (ie torque arm, control arms, relocations brackets + control arms). I wont be doing any type of auto cross or anything like that just regular straight line racing. Also i have lanes duals (dumped right before the axle) and im thinking of going with BMR's Xtreme torque arm, does anyone have it (if so what were your expeciences/are you happy with it) if not would anyone recomend something better to plant the rear end down.

Since you want just one piece. Get 1 control arm and save for the other.

For anything other than drag racing, I'd say shocks.

But since all you want is straight line traction - control arm relocation brackets. It may not handle well, but it will hook.

There isn't a single most important piece, just as their isn't a single most important engine component to make good power.

It requires a complimentary SET of components to achieve a goal.

Actually, shocks have a huge effect on weight transfer. You'd be surprised by how much difference they can make. However, Mitch is correct, you need the package to "match" to be the most effective.

Do you have subframes? Subframes and shocks are two of the most needed parts for f-bodies.

Yes, but stock worn out stock shocks will allow plenty of weight transfer. Changing the angle of the LCAs with relocation brackets will let the rear hook better at the strip - at least that's what all the DFW guys who swear by Lane's LCA relocation brackets always reported. I don't drag race, and I've got the 116K mile factory installed clutch to prove it.

Realize it's a domino affect.

You change shocks and then spring rates are off, negating the potential of the shocks.

Replace springs and shocks, then pinion angle, diff angle, diff location is off, binding the suspension or making you launch crooked.

And so on ...

So aksing what is the single most important component is an impossible question to answer.

The point is spending money now on a single component might be a waste of money later on.

Hey, I don't drag race either, and I've got a 45k mile factory installed clutch that's starting to slip to prove... umm, that I'm rough on my clutch?

If you're doing straight line racing only, you can cross sway bars off that list. However, I put the 1LE sway bar kit on my car and it was a HUGE improvement. Cornering has never been so much fun.

For me the #1 mod was the adjustable RACE panhard rod (rod ends) as it keeps the rearend directly centered in a turn (no "walk") and made going around turns MUCH tighter and more predictable.

For someone who wants to go to the strip, I would say:

#1: LCA relocation brackets
#2: subframes
#3: torque arm
#4: LCAs

I personally don't buy any poly parts. 100% of my parts are rod ends (the "RACE" stuff) as there is NO give in the system and you get pure performance. There is a little more noise but to me that's just people ing over nothing .....give me the performance any day

Shocks, shocks, shocks. Then a big front swaybar. 32 is better than 30, but ain't anything vs. a 35mm bar.........

Shocks and SFC's in my opinion. Shocks def for ride quality, SFC's for over all performance
