Default Banging from rear when braking.....

Well, here is the problem that I am having. Once I start to slow the car down and am pressing of the brakes, I get a banging sound from the right rear??? of the car. When I let off of the brakes, the noise goes away. Obviously, it's in the brakes. Anyway, the rear rotors were warped, so I replaced them with powerslotted rotors and Hawk pads plus hyperfirm stainless brake hoses. The noise is still there. The only thing that is left is the caliper itself. So, my question is do any comapines out there make performance replacement calipers for the rear? Or should I try something else first like lubing the pads? thanks in advance for any replies to this thread, Paul Moore

This could be brake hop, but I haven't heard of many
people running into that. One thing I did run into
though, was when I installed my SLP Y-pipe the first
time (took me 3 rehangs to get right) it brought the
I-pipe too close to the driveshaft and on deceleration
squat it came to interference with the little balance
weight on the shaft. If your banging follows speed,
check that. A lot of close packed stuff under there.

My guess would be brake hop also. Actually, LS1 cars are known for that, especially when running sticky tires. LT1 cars had a brake proportioning valve, but that was eliminated for LS1's, which rely on the ABS system to do the job. However, it doesnt' do a very good job of it once you put some good tires on the car. Is your ABS system working properly? Any lights?
