Default Question about different size tires...

I posted this in the wheel and tire section too, but figured it pertains here as well.

I have tried to do searches on this, and haven't really found the answer.

The question, on an Fbody, how much tire height difference can you have, and still have trac control (never use it anyway) and ABS? I would like to lower the front a little with the stock 275/40/R17 on it, and get a tire that is taller in the rear (either more sidewall, or an 18" rim).

Some things I have read:
-You can't tune for the difference
-10% is the max difference
-5% is the max difference

If anyone knows, or has first hand knowledge, I would appreciate it. TIA

Id want to know this as well. Ask around for the ABS settings on the C5 and compare them to that of an F-body.

On the street I run 275/40-17's on the front and 295/35-18's on the back with no problems with asr and abs. You can look on tirerack.com and see exactly what the height difference is, but I know the 295's are a bit bigger.

I've seen someone with 15% size difference report
ABS problems. I think <10% will work out OK.

Cal's example, going by the numbers, is only about a
2% difference rear>front.

I used dia=wheel+((width/25.4)*(aspect/100))*2 in
inches. Of course actual vs labelled may be a bit off.
