Default Do Eibach springs suck for drag racing?

I have a set of Eibach progressive rate springs and HAL Q1A's up front and I am looking to upgrade my car for better straight line performance. Do the Eibach's hurt me? SHould I go back to a stock spring?

Thanks.

A stock spring would definately help you more. Eibachs are usually soft in the rear so they aren't too bad. Since you have some Hals, you won't have to worry about the ride height of the springs because you can always adjust that yourself.

The stock springs are better for drag racing? Why is that? They allow you to nose up more and put more weight on the back wheels or something?

(I'm a newbie, obviously)

The Eibach really aren't too bad since they're not overly stiff. Kind of a good all around spring. There ARE better drag race only springs though. How exactly do you use your car day to day ?

I hear people say they aren't what you want to use. I think they work fine if you have good shocks to go with them. I run HALs both front (set @ 1-2) & rear (@ 6-8), and I get no wheel hop even if I run street tires (where they smoke thru 3rd gear). Once I get my new converter in I will be able to tell you how they act when you hit it hard. But you need to stiffen the rest of the suspesnion up to optimize performance.

It's going to depend on what Eibach spring you have.

oh yeah I guess they make more than one LS1 spring don't they lol ! I was referring to the Prokit spring. Like WAHUSKER said though, a better drag oriented shock will make the Prokit's work fairly well on the drag strip. Bilsteins and Koni's make them work pretty well in ORR too

I have the Prokit and KYB shocks on my T/A. It didnt affect my times any, I still pull the same 60'. The only thing that you will have to do extra is to add some LCA brackets. I had some wheel hop right after I installed the springs, I welded on the brackets and it went away.

Eibach springs suck for drag i know ive had them stay with stock springs in the rear. I would get some Hal's 12 way in the front and back with drag springs in the front.
