Default Hitting A Curb....

I recently hit a curb, have noticed a loud noise in turns out of parking spaces, but Im just curious what needs to be checked? Just list it out, I think it was curbed before I got it as well, the front bumper is cracked right before the wheel. Im really trying to fix this car up, and I want to start with the suspension. Thanks,
John

I have the same problem with the jerking too. I hadn't thought of it until you said it, but I hit a curb awhile back too. Didn't jerk with the old tires, but with my new tires that are physically wider (although they say they are the same size), it is rubbing on the inner fender pretty bad. I'm going to take it to someone and have them check it out, maybe an alignment or something.

Check the front hub assembly. You have to replace the whole assy, as the bearing is in a sealed unit.

Next, make sure the sway bar endlink isn't bent.

Next, make sure the ball joints are OK

Just asking because I read his post wrong the first time.

He is getting a loud sound, while I am getting rubbing (tire on inner fender) causing it to be jerky in tight turns. I thought he had the same problem as me when I first read it.

Is the checklist different for each of us, or is it the same?

I noticed the problem is much more prevalent when the car is just started (maybe its suspension settling or a power problem) but I still have issues with the brake rotors warping and makin noise nonstop and im thinking its related, and wheel bearing could ahve an effect.

The front upright is bent. Camber is way out of wack as well as all the geometry. Pull both uprights and lay them side by side. You can visually see the difference.

I just realized that I think that it was my back right wheel that caught the curb. So it couldn't have messed up the front suspension or anything.

Mine almost HAS to be an alignment issue. I mean, tons of people run the same kind of tires as me, a size BIGGER, and no problems. My camber must be way out of wack.

I'll tell an alignment shop to check it out, but what is a good alignment to tell them to have done? I'm thinking camber should be either 0 or between -.75 and -.1. But which is it? Or should I just tell them I want an alignment done to fix the rubbing?

As for the other guy having problems, it sounds like you've got a ton of stuff you can look at. Good luck! And sorry I posted this in your thread.

I am having a hard time figuring out what uprights are. The steering knuckle the caliper is mounted to?

Yes, the knuckle.

With the wheel raised off the ground, grab the top and bottom of the tire and push/pull to see if you have any play
