Default Matching Shocks to Springs

I want to get a set of DMS springs and ive read that for the best improvement, i'll need to get shocks that work well with the springs, so how do I do this?

Or you could make it really easy for me and just tell me what shocks under $350-400 will match the DMS springs.

Anyways thanks for your suggestions.

In your price range, there aren't any shocks that really match. Bilstein HDs would suffice, but are really designed for stock springs.

The cheapest "matching" shocks are revalved Bilsteins and will run you $500.

I only want shocks to match the DMS springs so I can do both at the same time.

What would match well for a little more dough?

Revalved Bilsteins or Koni SAs.

I just installed the Bilsteins with my DMS springs. I had stock shocks on there before and man what a difference. Very nice ride. I've read that without getting them revalved the HD's won't last as long with lowering springs but never found how long that is. I figure by then I'll either move on to another car or change my suspension set all together.

Neither have I and I have more that 50K miles on my HDs, having been paired with Eibach Pros and G2 Supers.

Is the stock vavling optimum? Probably not. Will it make a differnece in handling? Probably would. Enough to notice on a street car? I highly doubt it.

This is just my "half-assed" opinion, though.

My ride with the Prokit and Bilstein HDs was great at first, but after about 12,000 miles and 4 years I started to hate the ride quality. I would go with revalves or Koni SAs.

Mine too ... only I changed springs.

The rear was all the time hitting the bumpstops making for a bone jarring ride.

Bilstein HDs are only $320. That's the cheapest you are going to find any quality shocks.

Guess I should of done the search for a Camaro on his site, because the Firebird search doesn't come up with the same stuff.

You can shop around and find them a tick cheaper, once shipping is factored in.
For my race car, I bought a set for $329 delivered.

Here is a set for $323 delivered ...

At the same time, you could spend a couple more dollars and support someone who keeps this site up and running...

I support most of the vendors on this and other sites.

You said that was the cheapest. All of you are very quick to point out my half-assed ideas and opinions. Thought I would reciprocate.

Calm down. I don't think there's anything to reciprocate to me.

Forgive me for not listing the uber-cheapest Ebay deals.

I don't have any beef with you, but if you want to be an ***, that's fine.

I thought you were a cool and knowledgable guy...

What is done to the revalved bilsteins that make them so much better for aftermarket springs?
