What are you talking about changeing? The rotors or calipers or both? Please explain. I have the LG setup that lets me run a C5 rotor and it made a big difference in brakeing.

First you need the LG brackets, that move the caliper out and down. Then you need a pair of front vette rotors. The vette calipers are optional. They dont not show the brackets on there site. You can call and order them, they are 249.95 I got there brackets, DBA Gold front rotors, and got my vette calipers front and rear off ebay.

Here is a pic of the upgrade. The calipers are still sitting in the box for now. Untill I decide if I want to paint, polish or powder coat them.

You also have to have 17" or larger wheels.

I read somewhere that in order to run the bigger rotor you need the LG or Bob Bishop brackets, but just in order to run the C5 caliper with the LS1 rotor they just bolt up? Also, is there even a performance difference between the C5 dual piston front calipers and the LS1 dual piston front calipers?

Yes a corvette caliper bill bolt right up with out any problem. There is no performance gain from going to a vette caliper and keeping the fbody rotor.

Call LG and ask for Matt. He will take care of you. If you dont want to cut your spindle then the LG bracket is the only one. The other bracket makes you cut the caliper brackets mounting tabs off it. LG kit just bolts up and unbolts if you need to go back to stock.

It's a bit of a long distance call from Bahrain, they are far enough away that their local time is 8 hrs ahead of Texas. I suspect someone will contact you soon (I passed this along to a friend).

Yes but they sure are prettier, and for my LT1 either way will be a huge increase. Just not sure if the extra $250 for brackets would be worth it. Are the C5 calipers and rotors any more expensive than LS1 calipers and rotors? If I got the C5 caliper and LS1 f-body rotor, would that use f-body pads?

There will be a substantial performance gain.

I would rather paint or in my case polish an fbody calipers then spend the money to get some red or gray vette ones. The calipers are a little more for the gray ones. The rotors are about the same depending on the brand.

Why would the gray ones cost more..? I plan to powdercoat whichever set I end up getting because I just made my LT1 calipers look brand spanking new. So I would probably just buy a dirty used set that functions and then do that. I really like the brushed aluminum "corvette" on the C5 calipers.

No I ment the gray (standard) vette calipers cost a little more over fbody ones. The red ones (that come on the Z06) a good amount more then the standard gray ones. O and the brackets are well worth the money. There was a huge difference between stock and the C5 brakes.

So is there a performance gain when you go from using the fbody capilers on a C5 rotor, to using a C5 Caliper on a C5 rotor?

The brackets only relocate the caliper? Will it be necessary to use longer brake lines?

One last thing, I thought the vette's had 4 piston calipers up front?

I am very interested in this upgrade, just need some answers

I dont think there will be any gain going from fbody to vette calipers. The vette ones are pressure cast and stronger. The brackets move the caliper so a C5 rotor will fit. The stock lines are fine and dont have to be longer or changed in any way. Nope the vettes have 2front and 1rear like the fbody. If you have any other question feel free to ask.

Yes, assuming you have 17" wheels, that's all you'll need.
