I've had my BMR for 1 year now, and nothing has exploded yet.

BMR here. If I were to do it over, I would have had that
piece worked over pre-install to add strap-overs on the
"T" welds (cross-bar to side rails) and some gusseting
where I see the newer-looking BMR in the other install
thread, has them. I picked up a fair bit of front end
rough-pavement shake after the K swap; not anything
"wrong" with the member, it's just nowhere near as rigid
as the stock clamshell stamping. Another 2lb of steel I
think could go a long way. But welding it up on-car is
not nearly as clean as being able to lay a bead down
both sides of any add-on bracing, and repaint. And
dropping it now, well, umm... no.

I think the BMR is -nearly- street grade, but depending
on a T-weld to keep the car together is something I
wish I didn't think about.
