Default Rear suspension problems

I took off my rear shocks today and lowered the rear end down with a jack and I noticed that the rear end is off to the right. What the hell causes the rear to be off center anyways? Why would it become off center by just taking off the shocks? I have another problem also, I dropped the rear down some, and now when I try to jack it back up, the rear goes up about 1" and then the whole car starts to raise up, and the rear still needs to go up under the car more, what's that all about? Could the rear end being off cause the rear being off center?

Thanks

BTW, I have a old skool BMR adjustable PHR with the adjusters on the ends, not the center.

The PHB is bolted to the car on one end, the axle on the other. It will swing in an arc. The more you lower the axle, the more the phb will "tilt" as the axle drops (lower it enough and the PHB will be straight up and down and the axle will be several feet off center. As you lower the axle (outside its normal range of travel), the suspension will do extreme things, notice that it is also moving the wheels forward towards the body as it drops. It's not unusual and it is doing just as it should.

As you raise the car, the springs start to compress, but at the same time, they will start to lift the body. As you raise the axle, it will lift the car somewhat until you have all the vehicles weight supported on the axle (and not on the jack stands). Just be careful and raise the axle into place and reattach the shocks. You should be fine.

The rear is connected to the chassie by LCA ,PHB ,shocks and TQArm (to the driveline) .Since you had your shock removed check the other parts something preventing your rear to move up .Also check your spring maby they are not in correct position . Maby you must loose the above mentioned part´s just to get your rear in position .

I don't think you want to put the 10 bolt back in and see how close it is. Alternatively you could recenter it with everything in (spare tire, jack, battery if you have one).
