Default Polishing Rotors

I've seen a few pictures of people with polished rotors. Are there any detremental effects of this? I would imagine that a polished rotor would be more slippery than a non-polished rotor. Is this safe?

absolute_speed was joking.

Dont polish or chrome your rotors. That would reduce their coeficiant of friction, reducing braking ability.

Even if you did polish them, the brake pads would scuff them back up after 1 mile of riding. If not quicker
