I really didn't replace the spacer I just slipped a piece of thin garden hose over the end of the spring to keep road noise down and that's it.

I know you don't want to hear this (and you are doing the right thing by researching before you buy) but honestly every car sits differently. There is a chance your car may sit higher or lower that mine. Tires make a big difference and so do weight in the rear like subs or amps. You just have to play with it to get the stance just right or the way you like it. The only sure thing would be to spend the $$$ and get an adjustable coil over kit then you can adjust it for yor needs.

SS LS1, awesome car
where did you get the DMS springs from? and how much were they?
I got my DMS springs directly from them for $165 on a GP but their normal price is $185. Since I do not think any sponsors carry them Here is the link to their spring page.

Sorry moderators if there is a sponsor here that sells them.

Thanks for the response SS_LS1, I understand every car sits different. So far the DMS springs sound good. I'll probably end up with those springs

Yeah, I just wish the rear would sit lower with those springs. Even when you remove the isolator, it still isn't as low as I would prefer. But the front of the car with those springs are straight up sex.

Glad I could help! In the pic above (as you would imagine) the 2 outer springs are the DMS rears.

See how the upper coils are tighter wound than the center of the springs? The upper coils almost touch each other when the car is on the ground So.................You could easily cut 1/2 a coil off of the top to lower the rear further and since the springs are progressively wound the ride would not change.

And (God forbid) if you cut off just a little too much you could always put your rear rubber spacer back in and raise the rear a little. Or if you add a big stereo system to the rear and you would want it back up a little ......... BAM!! Just put the spacer back in and you are back in business!!

That's the beauty of the DMS springs as you have many options to play with where other springs w/o any rake you can't really do much with them.

P.S. if you lower you car as much as mine you are obviously reducing the wheel travel so I would suggest taking out the aluminum spacer above your bumpstops as your kidneys will thank you for it. Taking that spacer out (but still using the rubber bump stops) gives you back some of the wheel travel you lost from the lowering springs and the ride will be nice and smooth (with some good shocks).

Be sure to post up some pics when you slam your car!

Sweet car!! But Holy 4x4 Batman!! Drop that sumbitch!

I origionally ran the stock DeCarbon shocks with my DMS springs as I only had 4,000 miles on the car at the time so the shocks were still fresh. The car rode very close to stock comfort but the handling and look was MUCH better.

But after about 10,000 miles (and a good beating on the crappy LA roads during the Power Tour) the stock shocks were getting tired as the higher spring rates accelerate the wear of the DeCarbons. I now have Koni Dual Adjustables and the ride is very nice once again.

Hotchkis springs here. I love them. I had the Prokit on my 99, the Hotchkis are a much better spring.

This is a pic of my friends SS, he has the DMS springs on his.

heres a pic of a rear spring isolator. You have your stock spring on the left and a DMS spring on the right with the rubber isolator on top. As u can see... if you remove the isolator, you will get another 1/2" drop. Looks better that way in my opinion.

I ordered my DMS springs from the phone # off DMS' website...

They answered first ring and told me it would be 5 business days to my doorstep, $205 shipped, and sure enough, 5 biz days later I had my springs. Great service over the phone.

Installing this weekend with Bilstein's and UMI PHB
