Default What exactly is this called?

i bought my car a couple of days ago (new to f-bodys) and i knw the guy who had it before me has done some suspension mods. what is the piece that runs parrarell with the drive shaft? and is a couple feet long it has a big E in it too can someone help me out??

Are you talking about the torque arm.

Sounds like the stock piece has been changed for an Edelbrock torque Arm.
